Right Heart Catheterization (RHC)
Training is provided for all steps of examining RHC: study of pathological changes in the heart chamber and pulmonary artery; insertion of a right heart catheter through the neck or vein in the groin. During examination, measurement of the various heart pressures can be made via hemodynamic monitoring: central venous pressure; right atrium pressure and right chamber pressure; pressure in the pulmonary arteries and capillaries; and cardiac output. These can be measured via both the Thermodilutation and Ficksche methods.
